TenStickby Marshmallow

For kindergarten to grade 2

Ones, tens and hundreds the whole class can trade

Children build each number in blocks and make every trade themselves, while the sum as written keeps in step beside them.

Free, with no sign-up. Nothing about you or your class is kept.

Try it now. No sign-up needed.

Take away 38. Tap a block to take it; drag a ten into the ones to break it.

tens

ones

This is 52 take away 38 on the real mat. The full mat and its lessons are free.

The child makes the trade

Ten ones fill their column and wait. Dragging them to the tens turns them into a ten; dragging a ten back breaks it into ten ones.

Blocks and digits together

The small 1 appears above the tens at the moment the ten is made. A broken ten is crossed out and rewritten as it happens.

Chains of sums

Pick what the class is working on and get a chain where each sum is one small step from the last, to work on the mat or print. Every lesson has its own link, so the same sums come up on the board or at home.
