Terms of use
Last updated 16 October 2026
The short version
- Marshmallow is free, with no sign-up. Every tool and every lesson is open to everyone.
- Nothing about you or your students is kept.
- You stay responsible for supervising children while they use the tools.
- Marshmallow is independent and is not connected to any curriculum publisher.
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Black Rabbit LLC dba Marshmallow Education (“Marshmallow”), which runs the Marshmallow tools. By using the tools you agree to them and to the privacy policy.
Free, and chipping in
- Every tool is free. There is nothing to pay and no card is asked for.
- You can chip in if you like. A contribution is a gift towards keeping the tools running. It buys nothing extra, and it does not change what you or anyone else can use.
- If that ever changes, this page will say so before it applies.
What you may and may not do
You may use the tools for teaching, at school or at home. You may print and copy the lessons you build, and share their links, for your own students or children.
You agree to use the tools lawfully, to leave their security alone, to use them yourself and not through automated means, and not to resell them or copy them to build a competing product.
Who owns what
The tools, their design, their characters and their content belong to Black Rabbit LLC dba Marshmallow Education.
Independence
Marshmallow and its tools are independent. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any curriculum publisher.
What the tools are, and are not
The tools support teaching. The grading translator is an aid to your professional judgement. It is not a formal assessment, a diagnosis, or advice about any individual child.
When a tool says a word or a number aloud, the voice is computer-generated, not a recording of a person.
Changes and availability
We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. A lesson link builds its lesson from the words and numbers the tool has at the time, so a link may give a slightly different lesson after a tool’s word list changes.
Warranties and liability
[To be written by a lawyer: disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability.]
Governing law
[To be decided with a lawyer: the governing law and where disputes are heard.]
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, this page will say so before the change takes effect.
